Principal Broker and Executive Broker (Arkansas)
In Arkansas, the principal broker is responsible for the business conducted under the firm's license and for every associated licensee, and must instruct, inform, and strictly supervise them. The principal broker may delegate day-to-day supervision to an executive broker by filing AREC's designation form, effective when filed, but remains responsible. A branch office needs a designated executive broker. Associate brokers hold broker licenses but supervise no one.
- Exam tip
- If a licensee deals independently without the broker's knowledge, the principal broker must immediately notify AREC in writing and forward the license, not 'within 30 days.'
- Example
- A salesperson secretly lists her cousin's farm and collects a fee directly. Once the principal broker learns of it, he must report it to AREC in writing at once and send in her license.
