Delaware Real Estate Commission

Delaware's real estate regulator under 24 Del. C. Chapter 29, working with the Division of Professional Regulation (DPR). The Governor appoints nine members: three brokers (one each from New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties), one associate broker, one salesperson, and four public members, for three-year terms with one additional term allowed. A majority is a quorum, but disciplining a licensee requires at least five affirmative votes. It approves forms such as the Consumer Information Statement and Seller's Disclosure report.

Exam tip
'3-1-1-4, three-year terms' and 'five to discipline.' Members are appointed by the Governor, not the DPR Director or the General Assembly.
Example
A Sussex County broker on the Commission cannot move into an open Kent County broker seat, because each broker seat represents a specific county.

Answer & explanation
