Annual December 31 License Expiration (North Dakota)
All North Dakota real estate licenses expire December 31 every year (N.D. Admin. Code 70-02-01-04), with renewal applications due by November 15. Renewal requires the fee and proof of education. A licensee who renews late loses the right to collect commissions for work after December 31 and risks prosecution for unlicensed activity. A license canceled for nonrenewal requires a new application, fees and exams. Active licensees must also carry errors and omissions insurance.
- Exam tip
- Remember the dates: due November 15, expires December 31. A licensee short on CE can renew as inactive and reactivate later.
- Example
- A salesperson lacks 4 CE hours on November 15; she renews inactive for the next year and transfers to active after finishing the hours and confirming E&O coverage.
