First Personal Meeting Disclosure (Connecticut)
Under §20-325d(b), as rewritten effective April 1, 2024, a Connecticut licensee must give a prospective party in writing, not later than the first personal meeting, the types of agency relationships available and a statement not to share confidential information until a written representation agreement is signed. In residential transactions the licensee must also provide fair housing information. Delivery may be electronic. On request, a licensee must disclose in writing the identity of the client to any unrepresented party.
- Exam tip
- Choose 'not later than the first personal meeting,' the 2024 wording. Older materials say 'at the beginning of the first personal meeting.'
- Example
- At an open house, an unrepresented couple receives the agency disclosure, confidentiality warning, and fair housing information on a tablet before discussing the home in detail.
