Idaho Real Estate Commission

The body created by Idaho Code 54-2005 to administer and enforce the Idaho Real Estate License Law (54-2001 to 54-2080) and its rules in IDAPA 24.37.01, now housed within the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL). It has five members appointed by the governor to four-year terms: four designated or associate brokers with five years of experience, one from each of four districts, and one public member. Its executive director investigates complaints. The Commission does not resolve commission or fee disputes.

Exam tip
'5-4-4-5-1.' The governor appoints; the executive director investigates; and the Commission will not settle a commission dispute.
Example
A buyer asks the Commission to order a brokerage to pay her a promised rebate. It cannot; she may file a conduct complaint, but the money question goes to the parties or a court.
