Real Estate Recovery Revolving Fund (Kansas)
The Kansas fund under K.S.A. 58-3066 to 58-3073 that pays consumers holding judgments against licensees for covered misconduct. Payments are capped at $15,000 total per transaction, $30,000 per calendar year against one licensee, and $50,000 lifetime against one licensee. When the balance falls below $100,000, KREC assesses each broker $10 and each salesperson $5; a licensee who does not pay within 30 days can be suspended.
- Exam tip
- Memorize '15-30-50, below 100 refill with 10 and 5'. The $15,000 per-transaction cap is shared by all claimants on that deal.
- Example
- Three buyers with $40,000 in combined judgments from one transaction can collect at most $15,000 total from the fund, split among them.
