Affiliate Broker (Tennessee)
Affiliate broker is Tennessee's entry-level license for a licensee who works under a principal broker. Applicants must be at least 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent, submit fingerprints and a sponsoring broker's sworn statement of supervision, complete a 60-hour Real Estate Principles course before the exam, and complete the 30-hour Course for New Affiliates before the license is issued. Every active licensee must carry errors and omissions insurance. Licenses run two years, and affiliate brokers need 16 hours of CE per cycle, including a six-hour Core Course.
- Exam tip
- 'Sixty to sit, thirty to get it.' A trap calls the 30-hour course continuing education or a post-license course due within a year.
- Example
- A candidate passes the PSI exam in June, completes the Course for New Affiliates in July, and applies within one year of the exam date.
