Mandatory E&O Insurance (Wyoming)

Wyoming requires errors and omissions insurance for all active licensees, with proof from applicants, renewing licensees, and inactive licensees activating. Coverage comes through the Commission's competitively bid group program or equivalent individual coverage. Minimums are $100,000 per claim and $500,000 annual aggregate per licensee, with deductibles of no more than $1,000 for damages and $1,000 for defense. Coverage follows the license. Policies may exclude fraud, discrimination, fines, and property in which the insured holds more than a 10% interest.

Exam tip
Know $100,000 / $500,000 and that E&O is mandatory for all active licensees, not only responsible brokers. E&O covers negligence; the recovery account covers fraud.
Example
A buyer sues a salesperson for $140,000 over a square footage error; the policy pays up to $100,000, leaving a $40,000 gap.
