Alaska Consumer Disclosure (consumer pamphlet)
The Commission-prescribed pamphlet, adopted in 12 AAC 64.118, that an Alaska licensee must give a person before providing specific assistance or entering a contract for it. Alongside it, the licensee must obtain a signed document disclosing the relationship the licensee will have with the person. When the person signs an offer, the licensee also gives a written statement, titled 'Licensee Relationships,' saying whom the licensee represents or that the licensee is neutral.
- Exam tip
- The pamphlet is due before specific assistance, not at first contact and not at the offer. Memory aid: pamphlet before, paper before, paragraph at offer.
- Example
- A couple asks a salesperson to select and show five homes on Saturday. Before those showings, the salesperson hands them the Consumer Disclosure and gets a signed relationship disclosure.
